3D Animation (go back)

Final project from an Introduction to Computer Animation class taught at Brown University in Fall 2016. Over the course of about a month, I worked in a group of three students to come up with the concept, storyboards, and shot composition for the piece. We used Autodesk Maya to model, light, and shade/texture each element and scene in the animation.

The animation tells the story of a quiet awakening in a thawing tundra. We wanted to convey an organic sense of life and motion despite the abstract automaton 'character' being made out of scraps of metal and wood.

Below are some initial storyboards.
